On January 1, organizers of the Six Day Baja Rally opened up registration for 20 pre-sale entries for the rally raid event running from October 1 to 7, 2023. These early bird entries received a discounted entry fee of $2800 USD for first-time riders, or $2400 USD for returning riders.
Billed as the longest running rally raid motorsports competition in North America, events like the Six Day Baja Rally are distinguished by the absence of GPS devices for navigation, instead relying on a roadbook given to the racers at the beginning of each stage.
The 2023 Six Day Baja Rally starts with check-ins and inspections in San Quintin, Mexico, on October 1, before the first stage from San Quintin to Cataviña the next day. Stage two is a loop that starts and ends in Cataviña, while stages three and four are marathon stages from Cataviña to Bahía de los Ángeles and Bahía de los Ángeles back to Cataviña. Another loop stage around Cataviña on stage five, then from Cataviña back to San Quintin for the final stage on October 7.

The Six Day Baja Rally also bills itself as an eco-friendly endeavor, commissioning a Manifestacion Impacto Ambiente (MIA), or environmental impact study, in 2018, where the Mexican Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) evaluated the impact the race had on the environment. This was, according to the rally organizers, “the first environmental impact study for off road motorsports to be registered with and approved by the Mexican Federal Government for land use in nationally protected areas.”
Early bird entries filled up fast on January 1, and rally organizers added an additional 10 entry spots with a $500 discount on January 2.
