Quick! To the Lego Batcycle!

Batman is one of the rare superheroes who has no special abilities (except vast wealth—Ed.). What he lacks in superpowers, he makes up for in bat gadgets and bat gizmos. One of our favorites, of course, is the Batcycle. Since most of us aren’t gazillionaires like Bruce Wayne, we’ll probably never be able to own a similar bike ourselves. But wait! It’s Lego to the rescue!
Lego has recreated miniature reproductions of a Ducati, Britten, and BMW in the past. They are no strangers to motorcycles more sophisticated than the crude, chunky ones we built as kids. The new Batcycle Technic kit continues this trend, emulating the version that we saw in 2022’s The Batman movie.
If you’re not familiar with this iteration of the Batcycle, Web Bike World has a a great story about it. Comparing the Lego Batcycle to the “real thing,” it accurately reproduces the general look of the bike in the movie. It’s still a small, mostly naked sport bike built around an enormous engine. The rear swingarm is extra long, just like a Hayabusa set up for drag racing. This helps with high-speed stability, which Batman needs when chasing down bad guys.
The only part missing from the Lego version is the Ducati-style trellis frame, which is obvious on the movie version. There are hints of it, but the nature of Legos themselves makes this lightweight structure unnecessary, and not easy to reproduce in this format. However, the overall look and feel of the Lego Batcycle match the movie bike well, which is certain to make any fan happy.
This version of the Batcycle definitely looks like something he could’ve built himself in the Batcave, sourcing parts from Ducati, Suzuki, and others. You, too, can build this Batcycle in your own personal Batcave. It would be a great project for snowed-in northern riders to take up over the winter, but it’s not scheduled for release until March 1, 2023. It could still work for a late winter project, though, or for bat-fans to assemble anytime.
