This 2004 Honda RVT1000R RC51 is a Nicky Hayden Edition example that was produced to commemorate its namesake’s 2002 AMA Superbike championship, and it was purchased by the seller in 2023. The bike is powered by a 999cc DOHC V-twin mated to a six-speed transmission and is finished in red, black, and silver. Equipment includes adjustable Showa suspension, triple Nissin disc brakes, clip-on handlebars, and rearsets. This RVT1000R is now offered at no reserve in Kansas with a Joe Rocket riding jacket, uninstalled decals, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.
The fully faired bodywork is finished in red and silver with black and white accents. The Nicky Hayden edition was distinguished by a brushed aluminum twin-spar frame as well as an optional set of race-replica decals, which have not been installed and are included in the sale. Additional features include a clear windscreen, dual headlights, fairing-mounted mirrors, rear-set foot controls, folding passenger foot pegs, and a side stand.
Cast-alloy 17″ wheels are finished in black and are mounted with 120/70 front and 190/50 rear Dunlop Sportmax tires. Adjustable Showa suspension consists of a 43mm inverted cartridge fork as well as a piggyback-reservoir monoshock connected to the aluminum swingarm via a Pro-Link linkage. Stopping power is provided by gold-finished Nissin calipers mounted over dual 320mm rotors up front and a single version at the rear.
Clip-on handlebars are mounted below the top triple clamp. The digital instrument panel displays a speedometer and an arcing bar-style tachometer with a 10k-rpm redline as well as indicator lights for fuel-injection malfunction, low fuel level, high beam, neutral gear selection, turn signals, high coolant temperature, and low oil pressure. The digital odometer indicates 2,500 miles, a handful of which were ridden by the current owner.
Nicky Hayden Edition examples feature a decal on the 4.8-gallon fuel tank that depicts his signature and racing number, and another that commemorates the 2002 AMA Superbike championship he won aboard a factory-backed RC51.
The liquid-cooled 999cc DOHC V-twin was factory rated at 136 horsepower and features two fuel injectors per cylinder, dual 62mm throttle bodies, side-mounted radiators, a digital ignition module, and a two-into-one-into-two exhaust system.
Power is sent to the rear wheel via a six-speed transmission and a drive chain.
A size 44 Joe Rocket padded riding jacket and uninstalled decals are included in the sale.
