Things are going well for Ducati. After a record-setting sales year in 2021, this year was even better. In 2022, the Italian manufacturer sold 61,562 motorcycles worldwide, its best year ever. At the end of the year, Ducati’s sales had grown by approximately 3.6 percent over 2021’s previous record. Even better for the Italian company, Italy became its number one market, followed by the USA and Germany.
Leading the sales charge is Ducati’s Multistrada V4. More than 10,700 of the machines were delivered worldwide in 2022. The next most popular ride was the Monster family, with 7,971 bikes sold, followed by the Scrambler Ducati family, with 6,880 machines delivered.

While Ducati’s bike sales grew, so did its sales network. By the end of 2022, there were 821 Ducati dealerships. This is the highest number of dealerships the company has ever had. Helping increase those numbers were dealerships in the new markets of Brunei, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Mongolia. In total, Ducati now has as many as 96 separately defined markets.
The 2022 Scrambler Ducati range ranked number 3 in all model sales.
Ducati CEO talks sales
As you might imagine, Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali was pleased with 2022’s results. In a press release, Domenicali says:

“This sales result is the outcome of the path that sees us investing in continuous improvement and growth. For the second consecutive year, we registered record deliveries, exceeding 60,000 motorcycles for the first time in our history. Ducati is an increasingly global company, ambassador of Made in Italy in the world, and these positive results make us truly proud.
In the sporting field, we have won everything we could aspire to, bringing home the Triple Crown in both MotoGP and WorldSBK. An unprecedented achievement that has written a historic page in motorcycling and will remain forever engraved in the hearts of all Ducatisti.
The year 2023 will see the debut in the MotoE championship of the first electric Ducati ever produced. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the women and men who work at Ducati in Borgo Panigale and in subsidiaries around the world, because without their dedication and commitment all the successes achieved by the company would not have been possible.”

Ducati’s sales success is good news. But there’s also some pretty good news on world motorcycle sales. We will update you on these sales shortly.
