Moto Morini, the Chinese-produced motorcycle company with Italian heritage may be coming to the US. The news comes as a result of its filing of VIN code documentation with the US’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Zhejiang Morini Vehicle Co. Ltd. is listed as the company making the filing to NHTSA’s manufacturer information database (MID). The MID identifies the details of the manufacturer’s Vehicle Identification Numbering codes and helps NHTSA to oversee product recalls.

Moto Morini motorcycles are already being sold in Europe. Presently two models are available. The X-Cape is the company’s middleweight “adventure” offering, while the Seiemmezzo is a naked “roadster.” Both bikes are equipped with a CFMoto-produced 650 cc parallel-twin engine.
But the filing seems to indicate that they want to bring other models to the US’s shores. Its MID filing shows they may be planning to bring both 650 cc and 750 cc models here.
This Moto Morini MID filing shows that both 650 cc & 750 cc models were registered.
The 750 cc engine is rumored to be a four-stroke, liquid-cooled v-twin producing horsepower in the high nineties. But it hasn’t been seen in public, nor is it clear whether the engine will be of their own design or a product produced by some other manufacturer (e.g., CFMoto).
There is also a rumor that Moto Morini could bring a 900 cc version. However, the chances that this engine will soon be used in a US market bike seems less certain. That’s because there is no mention of a 900 cc class powerplant in Moto Morini’s MID filing. Still, that doesn’t mean that they can’t make another filing in the future.
We will keep you up to date as new information emerges.
