[[{“value”:”The 2025 Indian Scout lineup announced earlier this year includes five Scout models, all with a different flavor but each supporting the Scout’s lineage and the desire of many to use the Scout as a platform for customization. To showcase the customization potential of the Scout, Indian Motorcycle has launched its Forged custom build series of videos that highlight three interpretations of the 2025 Indian Scout that will be revealed over the course of six videos.

The first creator highlighted by the Indian Motorcycle Forged custom build series is Roland Sands of Roland Sands Design. The famed builder chose to draw inspiration for his build from Ed Kretz, the legendary racer who rode to victory at the inaugural Daytona 200 in 1937 aboard an Indian Scout.

Sands, who also created the SuperHooligan racing class, decided to build a high-performance Scout that utilizes the racing experience developed for the Indian FTR SuperHooligan bikes and apply that knowledge to a streetbike that’s rideable for everyday use. He started with a 2025 Indian Sport Scout, taking advantage of the updated Scout’s steel tube frame and easily removable and replaceable parts that were specifically designed to allow easier customization.

In the video, Sands and RSD fabricator Aaron Boss talk about their inspiration for the bike and their ideas of how to turn the Sport Scout cruiser into a high-performance machine, and they meet with vintage motorcycle historian Grant Peterson for some insight into Ed Kretz’s racing career aboard Indian motorcycles.

This is the first video of six in the Indian Motorcycle Forged series. In the coming weeks, two more builders will be highlighted in design and development videos, and the final reveals of these custom Scouts will take place later this summer. The next Forged video features Brittany Olsen, champion American antique motorcycle racer and the founder of 20th Century Racing, which will be followed by the Swedish build shop, Unique Custom Cycles.

You’ll have to wait for the final reveal later in the summer to see the finished Roland Sands Sport Scout.
