[[{“value”:”We love Butler Maps. In my wide-ranging, moto-glamping lifestyle, I can drop into an area I’ve never visited before, look up the area on a Butler Map or in the REVER app, plan a route linking as many of their recommended roads as possible, and know that I’m in for a good time. While the standard maps do call out interesting dirt roads as a side note to their focus on the best paved roads, the new Butler Maps Adventure Series focuses exclusively on off-pavement excursions, pointing out the best unpaved roads in each state they cover.
“For years and years, we have gotten a ton of feedback requesting a map line that is built fundamentally like our G1-Series maps (depict all of the best paved segments of road in that given state or region) but showcases all of what we would consider the most iconic dirt thoroughfares in that given area,” co-founder Court Butler told ADVRider in an email. “Dissimilar from a BDR Series map in that the Adventure Series gives the rider their own mini-experience or bite-size adventure as opposed to a one-week or week-and-a-half long experience that the BDR maps encompass. We feel that these maps give a lot more freedom and flexibility to our customer’s busy schedules, and instead of having to bite off a large timeframe to complete a route, you can literally tackle these segments in an afternoon, day trip, or even weekend.”

Riders familiar with Butler Maps will have no problem adapting to the Adventure Series. Rather than the G1, G2, and G3 rating system used for paved roads, the Adventure Series uses A1, A2, and A3 ratings to bring you similar off-pavement excitement. These have been scouted and rated by actual human riders, not just someone looking at online maps or satellite images. All the features you’ve come to expect from Butler Maps are here, including elevation maps and detailed descriptions of what types of terrain you can expect along routes. While Butler does work closely with BDR, the Adventure Series is Butler’s original work. You can use both sets of maps in states where they’re available to plan the ultimate adventure rides, hopping on and off the BDR as you wish. Butler even gives you $4 off if you buy the Adventure Series and BDR maps together.

Adventure Series maps for Arizona and Colorado are already out. The standard price is $19.95, but Butler is offering inmates a 10% discount using the coupon code ADVRider. Pre-orders for New Mexico and Utah are available for $2 off until August 15. The $4 discount for Adventure Series and BDR bundles also applies. If you prefer to use your maps digitally through the REVER app, Arizona and Colorado will be available “within the next month,” with New Mexico and Utah available within a similar timeline after their print release.
This is just the beginning of the Adventure Series. “The plan is to release the next three Adventure Series maps by early spring of 2025,” says Court Butler. “Those will likely be something up in the Pacific Northwest, the Southern Appalachia, and/or something else near the West Coast.” We look forward to seeing what Butler comes up with.
