Sad news, fellow inmate Dennis ‘Antihero’ Matson has passed away aged 52. His sister Wendi Curtis broke the news on Facebook.
My brother, Dennis Matson passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at just 52 years old.Dennis was an incredible artist, cook, writer and so much more.
Dennis was known as the antihero in the art and Ducati motorcycle world. For all those that followed him and his “Italian Supermodel” (the adventures on his Ducati) please spread the word of his passing.
My heart goes out to all who have suffered the loss of loved ones! May the Lord bless you and comfort you…
Go after your dreams! Dennis did in spite of what seemed to be impossible. This was after he had a large brain tumor removed which caused a lot of struggles for him.
Dennis was a great guy to talk to if you ever had the chance and nothing short of inspirational, take a few moments and read the interview I did with him a few years back – Inmate Interview Series #12Dennis – AntiHero
Antihero became well known to a select group of inmates when decided to take an adventure that was something a little out of the ordinary, and ride coast to coast (and back?) with an Italian Supermodel, his Ducati 1199 Panigale S. Take some time and read his ride report – HERE . This led to more distant travels of the world, still riding his Ducati, and involvement with the factory that made a video with him (see below).
I’ll leave you with some of his first words on this forum in his Ride Report…
My plan:
Start from LA (where I lived), head north, then east.
Rules:
Don’t plan anything that doesn’t need to be planned
Stay somewhere until I get bored or restless, then move on
Don’t become attached to anything I can’t walk away from in 5 minutes
Don’t end up in a hospital or morgue
Godspeed Dennis ‘Antihero’ Matson, R.I.P.
