This 1984 BMW R65LS is powered by a 650cc opposed twin mated to a five-speed transmission and an enclosed driveshaft, and it is finished in red over a black double-cradle frame. R65LS-specific details include a front quarter fairing and grab handles integrated with the tail section as well as an enlarged rear drum and dual front disc brakes. Additional equipment includes a tinted windscreen, a contoured black vinyl two-up seat, BMW hard-sided panniers, 18″ Y-spoke alloy wheels, dual Bing carburetors, a black-finished two-into-two exhaust, and both center and side stands. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this R65LS is now offered at no reserve with a clean Colorado title.

The R65LS is the Luxury Sport variant of the R65, which is differentiated from other R65 models by its front quarter fairing and tail section with integrated grab handles. This example is finished in red and features a tinted windscreen, a 5.8-gallon fuel tank, a contoured black vinyl two-up seat, a set of BMW hard-sided panniers, folding passenger foot pegs, and both center and side stands. Damage to the quarter fairing and headlight surround is shown up close in the gallery and the fuel tank is dented on the right side. The BMW badges are discolored.

Silver-finished 18″ Y-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Metzeler Lasertec tires that the selling dealer notes should be replaced due to age. Stopping power is provided by black-finished Brembo calipers mounted over a pair of cross-drilled discs up front as well as a drum out back. Suspension consists of a conventional telescopic fork in addition to a pair of adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm on the left and the final drive housing on the right.

The low-rise handlebar is equipped with foam grips and a pair of round mirrors. The instrument pod houses a MotoMeter 120-mph speedometer and a matching tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline as well as a keyed ignition switch and an aftermarket trip computer. The five-digit odometer shows 4,800 miles. The housing is cracked above the speedometer.

The air-cooled 650cc opposed twin features a pair of Bing carburetors, an electric starter, Bosch electronic ignition, and a black-finished two-into-two exhaust system with a crossover pipe. Factory-rated output was 50 horsepower.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a single-plate dry clutch, a five-speed transmission, and an enclosed driveshaft.
