(American Honda/)Last month Honda confirmed the continuation of the Rebel 500 for the 2023 European market, and as we speculated then, it turns out that the bike will indeed be coming to the US along with the Rebel 1100 and 300. But this week’s Honda announcement held an even bigger bombshell: the debut of the latest member of the Honda Rebel family, the Rebel 1100T bagger.The 1100T is confirmed for the US market, but will be available only with a DCT transmission. (American Honda/)2023 Honda Rebel 1100T DCT: $11,299Honda semi-quietly pulled the wraps off the new bike to coincide with the start of the EICMA show in Italy, with the new bagger coming just a couple of years after the debut of its Africa Twin–based platform predecessor. There are no surprises under the new plastic (nor did we expect any), with the 1100T packing the exact same 1,083cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, paired to electronic fuel injection and throttle-by-wire. Geometry and dimensions are likewise unchanged, with the bagger sporting the same 59.8-inch wheelbase, 28-degree rake, and 27.5-inch seat height; suspension components carry over as well, with the 43mm conventional fork and dual rear shocks sporting the same preload adjustments and travel measurements. It would have been fair to assume there’d be greater fuel capacity on a touring variant, but unfortunately the 1100T’s tank remains at 3.6 gallons, just like its standard 1100 siblings.Related: Honda Europe Unveils 2023 Monkey and Rebel ModelsThe fairing is a handlebar-mounted unit with a brief “shield” at the top. (American Honda/)The new “T” trim level of the Rebel 1100 is still a clear step up in attitude and amenities, boasting familiar modern “bagger” styling, which these days usually consists of a batwing-style fairing with a short shield and shapely hard saddlebags. The custom-influenced styling continues in the background, with blacked-out engine pieces, frame, fork, and bodywork elements (yes, even the exhaust) slathered in the dark stuff. An all-LED lighting package illuminates your view both front and back, with cruise control and ABS also coming standard.LED lighting front and rear comes standard, as does ABS and cruise control. (American Honda/)For 2023, the new Rebel 1100T is only available with Honda’s dual-clutch transmission (DCT) and comes standard with the aforementioned fairing (which is handlebar mounted), and a pair of top-opening, lockable hard saddlebags offering a combined 35 liters of space. (American /)2023 Honda Rebel 1100/1100 DCT: $9,499–$10,099Meanwhile, the two standard Rebel 1100 versions are returning for 2023 unchanged, though in their case you can choose from either manual transmission or dual-clutch transmission options (DCT adds $600 to the price tag). All three Rebel 1100 versions feature the same water-cooled parallel-twin engine mounted in a steel frame, plus ABS, cruise control, and three ride modes. For the two standard Rebel 1100 models, both the manual transmission and DCT variants are available in Iridium Gray Metallic or Green Metallic (shown).The Rebel 500 ABS SE is available only in this Titanium Metallic color for 2023. (American Honda/)2023 Honda Rebel 500/500 ABS/500 ABS SE: $6,449–$6,949As we witnessed with the Euro release, the Rebel 500 model is also returning to the 2023 lineup in the US as well, with its 471cc liquid-cooled engine, six-speed transmission, and other mechanical elements unchanged. For 2023, you can choose from standard and ABS versions; the lineup includes the base Rebel 500, the Rebel 500 ABS, and the Rebel 500 ABS SE. The SE includes a variety of preinstalled parts straight out of the Honda accessory catalog, including a headlight cowl, fork gaiters, and a diamond-stitched brown saddle. The Titanium Metallic color scheme is available only for the SE model (shown); for the other two 500 variants, you can choose from Matte Black Metallic or Candy Blue.The smallest Rebel, the 300, is also back with no changes for 2023, though you can have it in this new Candy Diesel Red. (American Honda/)2023 Rebel 300/300 ABS: $4,749–$5,049The littlest Rebel soldiers into the 2023 model year with virtually no changes, except for prices and new color options. That means a 286cc liquid-cooled single, a full LED lighting package, and bobber-inspired styling with a low seat and a light weight that’s perfect for beginning riders. It’s available this year in Matte Black Metallic or a new Candy Diesel Red.
