2023 Harley-Davidson models arrive.

Harley-Davidson has revealed the 2023 line-up which not surprisingly consists of a series of Anniversary Editions to commemorate the 120th year of the brand. The other reveals of note include four “new” models.

Starting with the Anniversary Editions that have been a constant go-to for the past 20 years due perhaps to the success of the iconic black and silver bikes that marked the 100th Anniversary of Harley-Davidson. There will be seven bikes getting the anniversary treatment with the king of the hill being the CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary which, as we have come to expect from both CVO models and the Anniversary editions, features pretty much the best paint job to be found on a production motorcycle anywhere. Harley describes the paint this way:
Panels of Heirloom Red are applied over a base coat of Anniversary Black, each outlined with a bright red pinstripe and a hand-applied gold paint scallop. Subtle details added within the panels portray the head and wings of a soaring eagle. The gold-plated tank medallion depicts an Art Deco rendition of the eagle, an iconic Harley-Davidson design element.

The CVO 120 Anniversary bike will be a limited edition – but not that limited as there will be 1,600 available for the world. However, considering the $65,999 ($CDN)  price, that number might suffice. The other six bike will be not quite as elaborate and include the Ultra Limited Anniversary (1,300 bikes), Tri Glide Ultra Anniversary (1,100 bikes), Street Glide® Special Anniversary (1,600 bikes), Road Glide® Special Anniversary (1,600 bikes), Fat Boy 114 Anniversary (3,000 bikes) and finally, the Heritage Classic 114 Anniversary (1,700 bikes).

Of the four new 2023 Harley-Davidson models, the most unusual is the Road Glide 3 trike ($41,899 CDN) that takes styling cues from the Road Glide rather than the Street Glide. The Road Glide fairing is frame mounted to the trike and features vents to reduce buffeting, a 6.5 inch TFT screen and a two big speakers to keep the tunes audible. As expected with a trike there is a weatherproof trunk, electric reverse and trike specific rider safety aids.

Keeping with trikes, the Freewheeler ($36,599 CDN) gets the blacked-out treatment.
Elsewhere there is a new Special model for the Nightster ($18,299 CDN) featuring a small passenger seat and pegs, better handlebar ergonomics (two inches further back and one inch taller) and a small fairing around the headlight.

Finally under the “new” designation for 2023 Harley-Davidson offerings is the return of the Breakout ($26,559 CDN) featuring the 117 engine and a new tank/ console combination.

This isn’t the whole story however as CEO Jochen Zeitz stated there will be more to come later.
We are going to talk about that before it happens.
