We’ve seen the limited-edition Gold Line Bonnevilles released last October and the similarly exclusive 221 Rocket 3 editions a month later. Both of those came on the heels of a major update to most of the Bonneville platform earlier in 2021. Now it seems like the Hinckley-based bike maker can’t wait to skip ahead to the next model year, dropping an announcement last week regarding its Modern Classics as well as other models for 2023.The highlights include tweaks to some model names and the addition of new colors for most of the modern classics and cruisers. Triumph says that’s in response to customer requests for more distinctive color options, so if you’re reading between the lines, you’ve probably already figured out that means no mechanical changes to any of the above.Related: Triumph Bonneville Series Updated for 2022In a nutshell, the Street Twin will now be called the Speed Twin 900, thereby creating a related series with the existing larger-displacement Speed Twin, which is now the Speed Twin 1200. It makes sense on one level, as the Speed Twin already had a similar styling sensibility. The other name change involves the Street Scrambler, which is now tagged as the Scrambler 900. That allows it to slot neatly into the subfamily created by the Scrambler 1200 series. All of the above will be folded into the brand’s Modern Classics banner.As mentioned, there are no planned changes to the chassis, engine, electronics, or ergonomics of each model, and Triumph has yet to release expected availability dates for each. For 2023 it’s rebadged as the Speed Twin 900, but otherwise this is the same bike we saw last year. You can now get the popular 900cc standard in three colors: the carryover Triumph Jet Black and Matte Ironstone hues and the new Matte Silver Ice. The new scheme features a Matte Silver Ice fuel tank, silver and yellow graphics, Jet Black side panels, fenders, and a new Speed Twin 900 logo. MSRP is $9,695 for the Jet Black version, which increases to $9,995 for the colors.The original Speed Twin gets an additional “1200” added to the name for 2023, and gains a new Baja Orange paint option. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Speed Twin 1200We knew this bike previously as just the Speed Twin, but as the Speed Twin 1200 it hasn’t changed at all from its 2022 incarnation. It returns to the line with the usual Jet Black or Red Hopper color options, but for 2023 there’s also a new Matte Baja Orange scheme with Storm Gray and Aluminum Silver tank graphics as well. The Matte Storm Gray side panels and headlight bucket on this new option are matched with Matte Silver Ice fork protectors to complete the look. The base model starts at $12,595 (Jet Black).Also not-really-new for 2023 is the Scrambler 900, which we used to call the Street Scrambler back in 2022. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Scrambler 900Like almost every other Bonneville-based bike in the 2022 model year lineup, the Street Scrambler was also given a host of refinements and updates to its engine. But for 2023, the only changes are to the name and the colors; it’s now called the Scrambler 900 and available in Carnival Red and Matte Khaki, colors meant to celebrate the Scrambler’s off-road heritage. Both colorways are bolstered with new graphics and Jet Black highlights, including the fenders and striping. The new paint schemes join the returning Triumph Jet Black color option, with pricing starting at $11,295 (Jet Black) and going up to $11,795.The Scrambler 900 will join the Scrambler 1200 models to make a subfamily in the Modern Classics lineup for 2023. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and XEMeanwhile, the existing Scrambler 1200 lineup of the XE and XC models also gets zero mechanical updates but will be available in three colors for 2023. First up are the returning Sapphire Black as well as the Matte Khaki Green/Matte Jet Black schemes, which are joined by the new Carnival Red and Jet Black scheme. It’s not clear if those color choices apply to both models, and no prices were available at press time.The 2023 Thruxton RS is even more of a head-turner in this new Competition Green/Silver Ice colorway. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Thruxton RSTriumph’s distinctive Thruxton RS cafe racer returns for 2023 without any mechanical changes and can be had in the usual Black color option, as well as an attractive new Competition Green and Silver Ice paint scheme. This classy colorway features a Competition Green and Silver Ice fuel tank and seat cowl, both of which are accented with gold graphic detailing. Black fenders, headlight bucket, and side panels along with silver fork protectors add contrast. This combo will cost you $17,145; the Black option can be had for $16,645.The 2023 Triumph T100’s new Meriden Blue/Tangerine paint option is pretty distinctive. Triumph says the colors tie in to the original 1959 design. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Bonneville T100The 900cc parallel-twin Bonneville T100 went on a diet and got a 10 hp bump in power for the 2022 model year, so this year the only real news is the addition of a new paint job. Granted, that new Meriden Blue and Tangerine color option is quite distinct, sporting hand-painted silver coach lines on the fuel tank and Meriden Blue side panels and fenders that Triumph says ties in with the original 1959 design, but you can still opt for the usual Jet Black or Carnival Red with Fusion White color schemes as well. As with last year, there’s no T100 Black model. Starting price for the T100 in Jet Black is $10,795; add $500 for color options.The T120 returns unchanged for 2023 save for the addition of this new Aegean Blue/Fusion White color option. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Bonneville T120The T120 also received Euro 5 refinements on last year’s edition so it too only gets updated color choices, which include the returning Jet Black and Cordovan Red/Silver Ice colorways. New for 2023, however, is the Aegean Blue and Fusion White option, which features hand-painted gold line detailing on the fuel tank. The color scheme is further enhanced with Aegean Blue fenders, Jet Black side panels, and a sharp black headlight bucket. The Bonneville T120 price starts at $12,395 for Jet Black and commands another $500 for colors.The 2023 T120 Black is available in two different shades of ebony; this one’s Sapphire Black. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Bonneville T120 BlackYou’d think the Bonneville T120 Black edition would only come in one color, but apparently the usual matte Jet Black offering is joined in 2023 by the new Sapphire Black and Matte Sapphire Black color option, which splits the shades across the fuel tank and adds hand-painted silver coach line details. The Sapphire Black and Matte Sapphire Black scheme also receives Sapphire Black fenders, side panels, and a dark headlight bowl and is priced $500 more than the $12,395 standard Black version.The 2023 Bonneville Bobber receives a new Red Hopper colorway this year. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Bonneville BobberAs with most of its Bonneville brethren, the Bobber also received engine updates last year (in addition to a larger fuel tank) so the only distinguishing tidbit this time around is a third color option, which joins the carryover Jet Black and Matte Storm Gray/Matte Ironstone schemes. That new color for 2023 is Red Hopper, which is accentuated by Jet Black side panels and fenders. MSRP is $13,495 for Jet Black, $13,795 for Red Hopper, and $13,995 for the Ironstone scheme.There are no changes to the 2023 Speedmaster, though you will see a new Cordovan Red paint option. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Bonneville SpeedmasterEuro 5 refinements and other tweaks to Triumph’s 1,200cc powerplant trickled down to the Speedmaster last year as well, which means the only thing vaguely new for the Bonneville-based cruiser in 2023 is the addition of a Cordovan Red paint option, which gets contrasting Jet Black side panels, fenders, and headlight bucket. You can still get the ‘Master in Jet Black and Sapphire Black/Fusion White color options. Pricing was unavailable at press time.The 2,500cc 165 hp Rocket 3 R returns for 2023 with a new Matte Silver Ice color choice. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Rocket 3 RTriumph’s massive 2,500cc roadster got a couple of special-edition spinoffs last year, but not much else to speak of as far as mechanical updates go. It’s the same story this time too, with the 2023 Rocket 3 receiving exactly zero changes save for a new Matte Silver Ice paint scheme as an option. The new paint job is complemented by black side panels, headlight bowls, radiator cowls, and fly screen, and you can still choose the carryover Phantom Black and Silver Ice/Cranberry Red color options as well. There was no word yet on price or availability as we wrote this.The 2023 Rocket 3 GT is still the more touring capable brother to the base R model, but this year it gets two new color options. Carnival Red/Sapphire Black shown. (Triumph Motorcycles/)2023 Triumph Rocket 3 GTTriumph’s Rocket 3 GT—the touring-capable version of the base Rocket 3 R—is also back in the 2023 lineup unchanged. This year it is available in two new color options: Sapphire Black and Carnival Red/Sapphire Black, both with hand-painted silver coach line detailing. The red option features a Carnival Red tank, front fender, and rear bodywork, along with hand-painted silver coach lining. Sapphire Black side panels, headlight buckets, fly screen, and radiator cowls offer contrast and definition. Price and availability will be announced at a later time.
