[[{“value”:”BMW Motorrad has revealed the details of its 2025 R 1300 GS Adventure model, which will be available to consumers starting in Q4 of 2024. US pricing will be released nearer to the model launch, however.Editor’s note: We test rode the slimmer non-adventure model, during the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Trophy Edition Reviews and Top 10 Features of the 2024 BMW R 1300 GS ADV Bike articles. The BMW R 1300 GS was also named last year’s Motorcycle of the Year having stood out from the other 30 vehicles we reviewed during the 2023 calendar year. The Bavarian brand upped the stakes last year when it released its 1300 GS platform, which provided a more substantial engine, lighter weight, and more refined overall package. We took a spin on the new machine soon after its announcement and found the engine to be smoother in operation and the chassis to still be highly responsive and comfortable in a variety of ride situations. The 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure sports a new look and gobs of functionality. (BMW/)So it’s safe to say that the latest member of the adventure motorcycle family is likely to be a gem, particularly if you’re partial to the updated, more angular, and aggressive look of the tank.“The appearance of the new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure is sure to attract attention. The big GS is not only visually different from its almost dainty sister. Never before have seating comfort, ergonomics and wind and weather protection been so harmoniously combined with precise handling, exceptional suspension comfort and smooth running. The new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure has set itself the goal of becoming the benchmark for large adventure motorcycles,” explains Christof Lischka, head of BMW Motorrad Development, in a company release.Designers gave the R 1300 GS Adventure a more robust-looking tank, which also integrates fastening elements to make securing tank luggage easier. (BMW/)The 1,300cc boxer twin offers a claimed 145 hp and 110 lb.-ft. of torque, as well as higher torque throughout the rev range compared to the previous 1250 Adventure (read/watch the 2021 BMW R 1250 GS Review), with BMW touting an available 96 lb.-ft. constantly available between 3,600 and 7,800 rpm. The mill is hailed as more efficient as well, offering riders the maximum number of miles from the generous 7.9-gallon fuel tank. The six-speed transmission is situated below the mill and the shaft drive is built with BMW’s new design which employs larger universal joins and a reduced deflection angle. The rear axle hub is also more user-friendly, allowing for easier mounting and dismounting of the wheel when necessary.Auxiliary lights are built into the redesigned bodywork. (BMW/)BMW’s ShiftCam technology is present, as are a lightweight stainless steel exhaust setup and advanced knock sensor. The chassis features a sheet metal main frame and aluminum lattice tube rear frame. The EVO Telelever front end and EVO paralever rear soak up bumps with aplomb, and the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoked wheel configuration make the 1300 GS Adventure ready for any road.Of course, the bike is outfitted with loads of standard rider aids, ranging from Dynamic Brake and Traction Control, Hill Start Control, Drag Torque Control, Full Integral ABS, along with four ride modes.Control all the bike’s numerous functions with ease. (BMW/)A huge range of optional upgrades are available, including Automated Shift Assist, which offers riders the benefit of automated clutch operation.“The uniquely powerful propulsion and smooth running of the 1,300cc boxer engine contribute significantly to the harmonious riding experience of the new R 1300 GS Adventure. With the optional Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), it also offers an innovative technical solution to make long-distance touring and adventure riding even easier and more comfortable,” says Patrick Gürlich, project manager of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure, in the same release.A large windshield gives riders plenty of protection from the elements. (BMW/)Additional standard features include the adaptive Headlight Pro, Dynamic Cruise Control, a smartphone charging compartment, Matrix LED headlights, and new auxiliary lights that integrate into the bike’s bodywork. There are also hand protectors with integrated turn signals, a 6.5-inch TFT instrument panel, Keyless Ride, heated grips, and Intelligent Emergency Call functionality among many other bells and whistles aimed at making this one of the most functional adventure-touring motorcycles on the market. The 1300 GS Adventure comes with engine protection, a storage compartment with charging capabilities, a centerstand, and a luggage rack. (BMW/)The 19-inch front wheel is slowed by four-piston radial-mounted calipers with dual 310 semi-floating discs. (BMW/)Power is delivered to the rear wheel via a redesigned shaft drive, first debuted last year on the GS 1300. (BMW/)The 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure will be available starting in Q4 of 2024.
